Senior Farmers Market
Program Kicks Off

Regional Partners to Coordinate Enrollment

Thanks to the support of several regional partners, the 2014 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program will serve area seniors with coupons for fresh fruit and veggies.

The Ohio Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program helps older Ohioans enjoy locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and honey. Participants must be 60 years or older, live in one of the AAA8 region's eight counties, and have an income less than 185 percent of the poverty guidelines. All income will be counted. This is: family of one - less than $21,590 yearly; family of two - less than $29,101 yearly.

The program provides $50 worth of coupons to purchase locally grown fruits, vegetables and honey. Each eligible participant will receive ten $5 coupons to spend.

Home-bound individuals may assign a proxy to shop for them. This person must sign the application in addition to your signature and have valid ID, such as driver's license or state ID.  Coupons cannot be awarded until both signatures are obtained. There will be a limited amount of coupons available, but a waiting list will be kept for anyone signing up after all coupons are gone.
